Tuning, training, and getting unstuck
Need a hand?
Email dev@coretattva.com with your question, your device model, and a short clip or screenshot if useful. We usually reply within 2–3 business days.
01 / The tuner is not picking up my instrument
First, make sure Void has microphone permission in your device settings. Reduce background noise — fans, AC, and traffic can drown out a quiet acoustic signal. Hold your phone roughly 15–30 cm from the sound source. For very low-tuned bass strings, allow a second or two for the algorithm to lock on to the fundamental frequency.
02 / Why did Void ask for microphone access?
Void uses your microphone solely for real-time pitch detection. Audio is processed entirely on-device and discarded immediately after the pitch is computed. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted. You can revoke microphone access at any time — non-microphone tools like the tone generator and chord library will keep working.
03 / Which instruments and tunings are supported?
Guitar (12+ tunings including standard, drop D, DADGAD, NST, Nashville), bass (4/5/6 string), ukulele, violin/viola/cello/double bass, banjo, mandolin, and harp (chromatic mode). The chromatic tuner works on anything pitched. Switch instruments and tunings from the tuner screen.
04 / The pitch reading jumps around
Pitch jitter usually means competing harmonics or background noise. Try plucking with a cleaner attack, mute the strings you are not tuning, and keep the device close to the source. The strobe tuner is more sensitive to micro-pitch variation and is the right tool for fine tuning intonation.
05 / How accurate is Void?
The chromatic tuner targets ±1 cent of accuracy under normal conditions. The strobe tuner is finer for intonation work. Accuracy depends on your microphone, the noise floor, and how cleanly the instrument is being played.
06 / Tone generator volume is too low
Make sure your media volume (not ringer) is up, and your phone is not paired to a Bluetooth device that is muted or far away. The tone generator outputs a clean sine wave by default — try switching wave types or raising the gain in the tone generator settings if your output device needs more signal.
07 / Pitch training and interval training tips
Start with the wider intervals — octaves and fifths — before drilling minor seconds and tritones. Use headphones for cleaner reference tones. The training engine adapts difficulty based on your accuracy, so consistent short sessions beat occasional long ones.
08 / Does Void work offline?
Yes. Every feature — tuner, strobe, tone generator, training, chord library — runs entirely offline. There is no account and no network call at any point.
09 / Bug reports and feature requests
Email is the fastest way. Send a short note to dev@coretattva.com with your device model, OS version, and steps to reproduce. Audio examples or screen recordings help us debug tricky pitch issues quickly.
10 / Refunds
Refunds for paid downloads are handled by Apple and Google directly through your App Store or Play Store account. We cannot issue refunds on their behalf, but we are happy to help troubleshoot anything that is getting in the way.
11 / Still stuck?
